Zoya Noot Swatch and Review

~purchased by me~

Remember that bright yellow shade I was wearing yesterday, Almost Famous? Well, I thought I would jazz it up with some nail art. I thought to myself, easy peasy! Just slap on some striping tape in a chevron pattern on your ring finger, dab a little bit of Zoya Noot on and...

...pull it off to reveal a very ugly, crooked shape. Throw up your arms in anger, rip off the striping tape and just go ahead and paint your contrast color all over the rest of your nails and call it a swatch. Ha!

Zoya Noot

What's nice about shades like these is that you know that they'll cover in one or two coats so you can just slap them on over another manicure.

I absolutely adore grey nail polish. I also really like yellow with grey but that didn't want to work with me. Oh well! All's well that end's well.

Zoya Noot Swatch

Two coats thought you can get away with one careful one. Gorgeous color. It's dark without looking black and it goes very well with my skin tone. I'll have to wear this one on purpose some time!

You can get Zoya polishes at Ulta or from their website. Retails for $9.

Color Club Almost Famous Swatch and Review

~purchased by me~

I bought this in a set from either Marshalls or TJMaxx a few years back, can't remember which store exactly. They had the entire poptastic collection for $9. Crazy! I snatched it up even though I wasn't a really into creams at the time and I am so glad I did! This is probably my most used collection for nail art and the like. Today I have Almost Famous for review. Here's what I used!

Color Club Almost Famous

Almost Famous is an bright yellow neon cream. As to be expected with Color Club, the formula is fantastic. I used three here but you can probably get away with two.

I wished that we had Rite-Aids where I lived so I can have easy access to this brand but alas, it is not meant to be. For a little while I thought that Sally's Beauty Supply was going to start carrying the brand but that was only a few select shades over the christmas holiday. Oh well, it's for the better; if I had easy access to it that would mean I would have easy access to it and I probably have enough brands tempting me as it is :)

Color Club Almost Famous Swatch

It kind of reminds me of the powdered cheese you get in those macaroni and cheese boxes haha. I still like it though!

Color Club Almost Famous Swatch

Though this is old you can still buy it online at several retailers. They may also have it at your discount stores like Ross, Marshalls and TJMaxx so keep an eye out! This collection is definitely worth picking up!

China Glaze Sun-Kissed Swatch and Review

~purchased by me~

For the labor day weekend my family went to go visit my sister who lives about 5 hours away from us. We basically lived in the pool for three days straight so this swatch also turned somewhat into a unintentional wear test. Here's what I used:

China Glaze Sun-Kissed

I applied this on the previous Thursday and I'm still wearing it 6 days later. There is a little bit of tip wear and the top coat dulled somewhat but I think for 3 days of chlorine abuse, this polish held up very well! I think it's mainly got to do with the base coat, which, unfortunately, is discontinued. I can see why people were snatching up backups while they had the chance!

China Glaze Sun-Kissed Swatch

China Glaze Sun-Kissed Swatch

Sun-kissed is a neon yellow that leans green and has subtle gold shimmer running through it. I'm wearing three coats here, no white undies. I don't know if I'm just too used to seeing bright colors on my nails now but this didn't seem all that bright to me while I was wearing it. It definitely is a yellow highlighter shade, it just didn't sear my retinas as I thought it would lol. That's probably a good thing seeing as how I managed to snap my favorite pair of sunglasses in half while in the pool :(. My bf tried to fix it for me but I told him I wasn't really feeling the harry potter look haha.

China Glaze Sun-Kissed Swatch

The formula on this is good; not streaky or patchy at all. A really nice yellow neon if you are looking for one!

I know this is an old polish but I believe you can still get it online from sites like headtotoebeauty.com for $3-4.

Wet N Wild Spitfire Swatch and Review and first Jelly Sandwich ever!!

~purchased by me~

This is the other polish I picked up from the Wet N Wild Summer Festival Collection. It's an orange jelly that is actually super opaque with a great formula!

Wet N Wild Spitfire

These limited edition polishes sport white caps in lieu of the regular gray ones.

Wet N Wild Spitfire Swatch

This is it at one coat. ONE! Amazing! I don't care for a lot of jellies because of their sheerness but this one can definitely be built up to opacity! The color is nice too, great for Halloween as well as summer!

Wet N Wild Spitfire Swatch

This is it at two coats. Perfect opacity, completely smooth and streak free. An absolute dream to work with. If you get any one polish from this collection it should be this one! And now for my first attempt at a jelly sandwich! I used China Glaze's Scattered & Tattered.

China Glaze Scattered & Tattered

I believe this is from their Glitz N Pieces collection. First I put one coat on...

And stopped to admire that for a bit! I really liked the way this looks! Very halloween. Then I went ahead and layered another coat of Spitfire on...

Yummy squishy-ness. I liked it like this but you can of course lay on another coat if you don't like the glitter this opaque. If you are looking for a great orange jelly you should considering picking this up while it's still available!

Wet N Wild Ferris Wheel Romance Swatch and Review

~purchased by me~

Wet N Wild Ferris Wheel Romance is from their new limited edition summer festival collection. The polishes from this collection have white caps as opposed to the regular gray caps. Ooh la la!

Wet N Wild Ferris Wheel Romance

Ferris Wheel Romance is a pink leaning pastel coral creme (mouthful!) I used three coats here but I think you can get away with two. It's just that with my freshly shorn nails, I have to relearn the amount of polish it takes to cover each nail. I still apply it as if my nails were their normal length -_-; resulting in flooding, streaks and patchiness. Sadness overall.

It's a very sweet color, dare I say reminiscent of Zoya's Wendy? I don't own Wendy to look see but I've wanted it for a while now. I'm also on the ever present hunt for my perfect peach polish. This isn't it lol, too pink. Still, very cute!

I reallly don't like this length nail on me but what can you do. These retail for only $.99! And there was a coupon for $1 Wet N Wild in last weeks newspaper so you can get these for an absolute steal if you have it! I really like this color and it's actually completely unique to my collection. Not my perfect peach but perfect in it's own way. The formula is good and the price is right, if you like this grab it while you can!

Sally Hansen Color Foil Leaden Lilac Swatch and Review

~purchased by me~

I'm loving the ease of these color foils! You can just slap them over your current manicure whenever you get bored of it and are too lazy to remove and start a new one.

Sally Hansen Color Foil Leaden LilacSally Hansen Color Foil Leaden Lilac

Leaden Lilac has the same formula as all the other color foils; two easy coats, make sure to shake thoroughly prior to use. You can top coat it to make it last longer. It does make the chrome-ness a little less mirror-like but it's not really a huge difference. I wonder what a water based top coat will do to it hmmm? I'll have to get one to try out sometime.

It leans more blue then purple to me. I like it! These are on clearance now at Target but my Kroger just put out the display. Either way, still available so if you want to grab some, do it soon!

Sally Hansen Color Foil Rose Copper Swatch and Review

~purchased by me~

So! I haven't posted for two days because I was doing some heavy gardening and I completely broke the entire free edge off one of my nails! I had to trim them way way down T_T. So sad lol. They look and feel very strange to me now. I also sustained cuts all over my hands and arms and so acetone would sting whenever I tried to paint my nails so I had to wait awhile. Anyway, Rose Copper. This is another one of the color foils that I picked up from the clearance bin at Target. I thought these were all but gone from the stores but my Kroger JUST put up a display lol! I saw the last shade that I wanted from this collection their too...Liquid Gold. I never have any luck catching nail polish on clearance at Kroger though.

Sally Hansen Color Foil Rose Copper

With the Color Foil line, it's best to apply over a top coat. As in, use a top coat for your base coat. Or you can do what I do and just slap it onto an existing mani ;P.

Sally Hansen Color Foil Rose Copper Swatch

The formula for this whole line is pretty straightforward across the board. They all need to be shaken well prior to use, work best over a top coat and cover in two coats. This is a very pretty rose gold shade. I like it a lot! I would also think this is SFW at least over my skin tone.

Shiny chrome goodness! I adore this line. I wonder if they work well for stamping? They work great as nail polish sweatpants haha. Look at your local stores now to see if you can snag some on clearance because they are definitely worth it!
